Timber or concrete sleepers?
Both do the job, so it comes down to the look you want and the block. Timber sleepers give a warm, natural feel and suit most backyards. Concrete sleepers last longer and handle taller walls and wetter spots. We will talk you through both when we come and measure up.
How high can a retaining wall go?
A wall over 1 metre usually needs engineering and certification. We will sort that out and let you know when we quote, so there are no surprises down the track.
Can you build a retaining wall and fence together?
Yes, and it is a common ask. We build the wall and put the fence straight on top in the one go, so the levels line up and it looks like it was always meant to be there. Doing both together saves you a second visit too.
What about drainage?
We do drainage properly behind the wall with the right backfill and an ag line, so water has somewhere to go instead of building up and pushing on the wall. It is the part you never see, and it is the part that keeps the wall standing.
